Blitz Buffalo
Did you enjoy the Sunbreeze Festival, kupo?
We expected it to bring cool breezes to Vana'diel, but somehow it's as hot as
ever.
But I have good news, kupo!
The M.H.M.U. has come up with yet another cool festival to beat the heat--"Blitz
Buffalo"!
You all know about buffalos, right?
They're big, black beasts that inhabit the Uleguerand Range. We moogles were
able to move them to areas outside of several nations using special magic, kupo!
Eh? Did you just grumble something about "troublemakers"? That word isn't in our
moogle vocabulary, kupo.
Anyway, now is your time to shine, adventurers! Chase down the buffalos and snag
the red sashes from their horns! Let the Beastmen bask in the wisdom and courage
of the nations, kupo!
However...take care, kupo.
The buffalos have grown rather upset watching the red sashes swaying from their
horns. Sometimes you may start running after a buffalo, only to end up being the
one chased! You wouldn't want to be sent flying into the clouds, would you? On
the other hand, the breeze up there might be rather refreshing...if you live to
enjoy it, kupo...
So, do you have enough courage to provoke one of the giant beasts? What's that?
"It sounds extremely dangerous"? Don't worry--you'll be fine! Live for the
moment, right, kupo?
Live on the edge...kupo...
Actually, we moogles gave the event a trial run ourselves and had a blast!
The sweat around our ears and the pounding of our chests during the hunt... It
was a real rush, kupo!
Facing the blood-chilling glare of the buffalo...knowing what must be done...
Ohhh, it makes me shiver just thinking about it, kupo!
That relieved gasp of freedom after barely escaping a buffalo's enraged
charge...then turning back to seize the chance... I...I just can't take this
anticipation, kupo!
Um, anyway! J-just make sure to participate!
Well then... Until next time, kupo!!!

Azimuth Circle
Master, master!
How are you holding up in this horrible heat?
You’ve made the Sunbreeze Festival a smashing success, kupo!
And now it’s time for the main event--“Azimuth Circle”!
Azimuth Circle has rather complex rules, so I’ll have to drill you beforehand,
kupo.
First off, the game can only be played in pairs--everyone must be in a party of
two. So you must begin by searching for a partner.
Coupling with a good friend would be ideal, of course. But even if you aren’t
exactly the most popular master...no problem! Just ask around, kupo!
And then, um, ummm...oh yeah! After that, just talk to a moogle with your
partner and say you want to start the game, kupo!
Then the moogle will tell you where your partner should go. It will also tell
your partner where you should go! So you and your partner have to relay
information between each other to figure out where to head next, kupo. Each of
you should reach your checkpoint with good teamwork!
Examine your checkpoint to find a hidden compass. The compass will point in the
direction that your partner should go, so both of you should use this
information to help each other out. Work together to find all of your
checkpoints and each of you will find a doll at the end of the trail, kupo!
Last but not least, trade your doll with your partner and then trade the doll
that he found to the moogle, kupo. End game--the moogle will give you beautiful
swimwear to beat the heat as a reward for your efforts! Nothing like going for a
dip in the ocean in this scorching weather, kupo!
Ah... I almost forgot! I have a message here from Azima of the Alchemists’
Guild! Here’s what the inventor of Azimuth Circle had to say, kupo:
“The name ‘Azimuth Circle’ comes from this gadget we set on a compass in the old
days so we could verify directions proper. I’m not vain enough to name a game
after myself! Anyway, I hope you and your partner become good friends while
playing. Maybe you can even invite them to join you again later wearing the
rewards you gained from playing. I wonder what games you could play with them
then…haw haw…<cough>…<wheeze>…!”
Ahem...yes, Ms. Azima is certainly a unique old... Anyway! Where was I, kupo? Oh
yeah, Azimuth Circle. Please join us in the festivities, kupo! Master, master,
get up and get out there! It’s time to find a partner for Azimuth Circle!

The Sunbreeze Festival!
Master, Master!
My wings are wilting wretchedly in this warm weather, kupo!
It's times like this that I wish I wasn't covered in fur...
Of course, we moogles aren't the only ones suffering, kupo!
All the craftsmen, merchants, and even the city guards are languishing
listlessly while longing for a little relief from the heat.
But never fear, kupo!
Officials from each nation have joined forces with the M.H.M.U. to lift the
spirits of sweltering soldiers and adventurers alike with a brand-new proposal:
the Sunbreeze Festival!
While continuing the popular activities of previous festivals, this event aims
to lure cool breezes from the heavens with all the fun and dancing taking place
here on the ground, kupo!
The officials I mentioned earlier had a slightly different idea, but it was
thankfully voted down.
(Casting a humongous Blizzaga V above each city and showering the citizens with
shards of ice didn't seem like the safest solution, kupo...)
Fantastic fireworks and sensational goldfish scooping are slated to make a
return this year, along with the introduction of the Rakapopo Dancers; a
Tarutaru troupe that performs the Far Eastern Sunbreeze Shuffle!
And don't miss out on the wonderful prizes to be won from the addictive new game
invented by Azima of the Alchemists' Guild, kupo!
All these absorbing activities are sure to take your mind off the heat, so join
your friends and help make the Sunbreeze Festival a refreshing success!

Feast of Swords
Master, you have to help us, kupo!
Have you heard of the Feast of Swords?
It's a Far Eastern festival that celebrates the health and growth of boys.
People decorate with huge flags in the shape of fish, and dress their sons in
fancy armor, kupo. There are also lots of magical, yummy goodies to eat, of
course...
Oops, talking about festivals always distracts me, kupo!
After the slight hiccup with the Doll Festival, the M.H.M.U. decided to hold a
festival that appealed to the male half of the adventuring population. We sought
the advice of a distinguished samurai, and began preparing for the Feast of
Swords, kupo.
Our samurai adviser kindly brought in some sets of legendary armor from the Far
East to lend an authentic feel to the event. That's when our problems began,
kupo...
Someone--or something--broke into our vaults and stole the suits of armor, kupo!
Now the very same criminals have donned their ill-gotten costumes, infused them
with their tainted auras, and are rampaging around the countryside!
We took the bad news to the samurai and this is what he said, kupo:
"I borrowed those suits of armor from the noble Genji family, a famous line of
samurai. While I doubt that any blade could even raise a scratch, any damage to
these rare and valuable artifacts could develop into a diplomatic nightmare.
However, I believe that the evil entities corrupting the armor can be driven out
through the use of specially blessed wooden katana. There is no other way to
solve this dilemma."
We must retrieve those suits of armor intact before the Feast of Swords is over.
I don't want to be looking over my shoulder for retribution-seeking ninja
assassins from the Far East, kupo!
The M.H.M.U. put the festival preparations on hold to order a mountain of wooden
katana.
Please help us, kupo! Talk to an M.H.M.U. moogle to get your weapon, and then
receive a special blessing from the nomad moogles outside town. Take the fight
to those thieving scoundrels!
The peace of Vana'diel--and the fate of the moogles--rests on your shoulders,
kupo!
[Event Participation]

The Vana'diel Adventurer Recruitment Program provides an opportunity for
FINAL FANTASY XI players to invite their friends to join their adventures, and
receive an added incentive! When players use this new system to invite friends
who have yet to play FINAL FANTASY XI to the exciting world of Vana’diel, both
parties will receive special items in the game.
For those of you who have dreamed of sharing your adventures with your friends,
do not miss out on this unique opportunity!
(Note: All days are in Earth time.)
The inviting party will receive a Guide Beret40 days after successfully inviting
a friend.
The invited friend will receive 12 Chocopasses on the first day, and a Sprout
Beretafter 40 days.
Both parties will also receive items after 100 days and 365 days.
Chocopass
This is a ticket that allows a character to rent a chocobo free of charge,
regardless of job level and/or chocobo license status. Rental is limited to the
stables in San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst, and riding time is limited.
Guide Beret and Sprout Beret
These are special hats that operate as a pair. When two adventurers equip these
hats and form a party, the level of the character with the Guide Beret is
restricted to the level of the character with the Sprout Beret, thus allowing
them to enjoy adventuring and leveling together.
*The level restriction effect of the Guide Beret will only
activate when the job level of the character with the corresponding Sprout Beret
equipped is under level 50.
*Players who are under the level restriction effect of the
guide beret cannot gain EXP.
Furthermore, these items will be offered every time you invite a friend to play
FINAL FANTASY XI! Don't miss out on your chance to obtain these unique items and
add them to your collection!
*To obtain special items, both the inviting party and the
invited party must pay the FINAL FANTASY XI subscription fee for a set amount of
time (40 days, 100 days, 365 days), and play the game using the same
characters/Content IDs that were used in the initial invitation process.
[Step 1] The inviting party purchases a Gold World Pass.
[Step 2] The inviting party gives his/her friend the Gold World Pass.
[Step 3] The friend creates a character using the Gold World Pass and you're set
to go!
Gold World Pass
A World Pass created solely for this recruitment program. The set in-game price
is 1000 gil. The term of validity is seven days (Earth time), the same as a
regular World Pass, and they may be purchased from the same World Pass vendors
in each nation. However, unlike normal World Passes, the Gold World Pass can be
used only once. Thus, if a player wishes to invite multiple friends to play
FINAL FANTASY XI, a Gold World Pass must be purchased for each friend.
